The API OH2(model FEP) pump is a centerline-mounted, single-stage, horizontal centrifugal pump designed for heavy-duty services in the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. Its defining feature is that the pump casing support foot is positioned at the same elevation as the pump shaft centerline, so thermal expansion under high-temperature operation does not cause shaft centerline misalignment, ensuring long-term stability of the mechanical seal and bearings.
The pump is manufactured in strict accordance with API 610 (ISO 13709) and belongs to the OH2 configuration. The casing is a radially split, volute-type design with axial suction and radial discharge; flanges are typically end-suction, top-discharge. As a heavy-duty process pump, its structural reinforcements include: a rigid shaft design limiting bearing deflection to within 0.05 mm, and a double-volute casing (for discharge sizes DN80 and above) that self-balances radial forces, significantly reducing vibration and seal wear.
The performance envelope is broad. Capacities typically reach up to 2,600 m³/h, heads up to approximately 360–380 m, design pressures from 5.0 MPa to 11 MPa, and operating temperatures from −40°C to +450°C. This allows handling of media ranging from cryogenic liquefied gases to high-temperature vacuum tower bottom oil. The seal chamber complies with API 682 and can be fitted with single or dual cartridge-type mechanical seals to meet various leakage control levels.
